Wiper Blade Replacement (dad f$#% up the whole thing)

I bought some wiper blade refills, it was obvious they didnt fit.
Advance Auto said they werent sure if they would fit or not, but reguardless they sold me a set that 'should fit'. I bought the set of Trico p# 45-240 refills. They were to wide to slide down into the the blade houseing, plain and simple.... i was going to return them tomarrow for hopefully the correct size.

Then my dad gets ahold of them and tries to do it after me... He attempts to remove that whole metal blade arm thing so he could bring it inside the house to attempt to get the refill to fit into the blade. When if it wouldnt slide in then, why would it fit if he did it the hard way and removed the whole wiper? So now i need an entire new wiper blade all together... Is GM the only place to get one of these? I wasent looking forward to paying some outragous price for something like this....

1st let me check for some after market (non ricey) ones from an auto parts store and GM. I cant wait a week+ for you to ship your friends(unless the price is right) becaus the 6 day forcast is calling for rain and its raining as i type this. Then when your friend dose take them off, he may break them not knowing and ship them to me.

Ok, be extra careful if when you remove the blades, it dose look tricky and easy to mess up...

And also, it looks like i have the "BOSCH" metal wiper blades, i guess the originial owner replaced the entire blade instead of just the refills.... Just something i noticed upon further investigation...

Umm, just go to Wal-Mart. They have them. When I replaced my wiper blades on my previous Camaro I bought the whole assembly not just the rubber strip. They sell em in the auto section at Wal-Mart for like $18 or so. I forget what size ours are, like 24" I think. They usually have a handy electronic thing that u can enter your car into and it'll tell u which ones to get. They have like 4 different brands too :-p

I hope you're just talking about the blade, and not the arm and all...

no, not the whole arm. the peice that sways back and fourth is fine.

I already already replaced both wipers. We have a 24/7 Auto Zone and i bought the whole assembly for like $10 each made by "Bosch"! They look stock to. Only took about 2 minutes to put them on, the only problem is that i can only use bosch refills and they dont sell refills for my wipers.

They come from the factory with regular Bosch blades. The 93-97 cars had the GM only blades. Actually, there were aftermarket adapter deals, but at that point.........

Yeah.. On my 95 I used the entire assembly.. body and blade not the arm of course.. On my 02, it comes standard as stated above with Bosch.. Which is good.. If I have to get new ones.. I would just get the whole thing.. makes life easy...
