Angry Window Motor Dying

My drivers side window is on its way out. Are there any articles on how to change it yourself.

The instrucitons that come with it are decent. I have replaced 3-4 of them now on 3rd gens and 1 4th gen. It is no fun, a helper makes things go faster.

[SARCASM] A power window motor going out on an F-body? NO WAY! [/SARCASM]

They're not the most difficult things in the world to do....start by pulling the doorskin off, and the plastic sheet that's behind it. Once you get to that point, small hands are a help because you don't have much room to work with. You will probably need a hand when you're finishing the job, someone to hold the window up while you put stuff back together.

Try a search for "basket" or "mbaskett". Its something like that, I don't remember for sure. He has a good write up w/ pictures on how to change it. Use duct tape to hold the window up while you pull the motor out. I did it in my 95 and it was't too hard.

Check this site out:

The install is pretty easy. Took me about an hour to change the one in my wife's camaro.

I have a good tip for you that will save alot of time and anger, after you get the inside of the door panel off, drill holes through the fiberglass where the heads of the screws are so you can get to them much easier.

How long do I have?

When (time and/or mileage) did you motor die? I would like to get an idea of how much time I have left.
