Will a 94 rear end bolt up to a 99?
Will a 94 rear end bolt up to a 99?
I'm a novice at this, but I have bought a 99 6 speed T/A and the rear end needs to be replaced. I have found a rear end from a 94 6 speed Formula but do not know if it is a direct bolt in? Any help is appreciated.
It'll bolt up... you might need new sensors or something, I dunno if the ABS and all is the same. You'll need the brake backing plates and all that since '94's have drum brakes I believe.
Too bad I waited too damn long to pickup my old rear-end from the performance shop or I'd give ya mine for like $50. I told em I'd pick it up in two days, got busy, called em today, they had already thrown it out
Was a perfect rear-end except it needed a new axle, had 3.23's. Oh well. Personally I'd look around for a rear-end from a newer car myself.

I belive the 98+ rear ends have a somewhat drum brake aswell, the disk incorporates an inner disk & pads for emergency brake which the 93+ doesn't have, I belive the mouting for the rear brakes is completely different & the ABS is different unless its off a traction control car for 4 channel abs.
keep looking in the for sale sextions and post there for one you'll find a newer one as poeple upgrade to 12 bolts if you have the money get a 12 bolt and save yourself the hassle later. also i think tbyrnes has a used 12 bolt and maybe a 10 bolt for sale look at www.tbyrne.com and look under the garrage sale or used section.
