Wink

I've had them in all my F-bodies and the list is short and simple: very noisy , very expensive and very poor wet and dry traction .

How do these compare to the eagle f1 gs's, such as what comes on a new vette? Or is this the same tire you are talking about?

You can get cheaper tires that last longer and perform better.

The eagle F1s are worse than the gscs. I have never driven on crappier tires than F1s, and they are outrageously expensive.

I had GS-c's and the only problem I had with them was rain. They sucked REALLY bad in the rain. I was worried about hydroplaning at speeds of 55+. I thought they actually had pretty good traction on dry pavement. You can get them for $99 each, so I dont think they are overly expensive.

I still have two brand new ones sitting in my garage. I'm probably going to sell them on ebay.

I haven't checked pricing on them lately, but Tirerack is currently quoting $168.00 each. Linky.

I'd be interested, just for the heck of it, to know where you can get, brand new Z-rated 245/50-16 GY Eagle GS-C tires for $99.00 each...

I have had mine since new and was always happy with them until lately. 20K miles and they are REAL loose. The hooked great for me and did well in the rain until now. Most likely I will run Nittos now.

I had GS-C's on my '87 IROC; I thought the dry traction was excellent, the wet traction was tolerable (what do you expect with a rwd nose-heavy car without traction control?), and the handling was excellent (the best of all four F-bodies I've owned; the car went around corners like it was on rails).
The problem? The GS-C's made the car very sensitive to road imperfections. It would "hunt" in truck ruts, and wander on the road, so bad that I took it back to have the alignment checked a half dozen times over the 7 years I owned the car.
When the GS-C's were worn out (60,000 kms, pretty good for a Z-rated tire), I replaced them with a set of BFG Comp TA's. Voila! No more "alignment" complaints!
The car didn't handle nearly as well, but it sure was easier to drive in a straight line.
I had the F1s on my '00 SS, and had no complaints. Seemed like a pretty good Z-rated tire to me.
I have BFG gForce KDWS's on my '99 TA Firehawk now, and they seem pretty similar to the Comp TA's. Pretty happy with them.

yup, they are expensive, in Hawaii $300 PER TIRE

I have no complaints about them...they do the job and the tread pattern looks awesome to me.

I baby my baby btw and it has 2.73's on an a4 so no worries about smoky burnouts.
