Who's got big brakes?

I want to know if its worth the money to get a full front brake kit.
I was thinking about the wilwood Superlite 6 Big Brake
package for around $1300. What do ya'll think?

I think that if you want to save $1000 I can set you up with spindles that will let you use your calipers with C5 rotors.

That sounds interesting---give me more information, what kind of improvment will I see over stock, how does it compare to a full kit. Are thier any other part that I would need to install them, do you have the C5 rotors too.

I modify the spindles and add a bracket to locate the caliper to match the rotor. What issues are you having with the stock brakes? I do know that the C5 rotor is much better than the F-bod. rotor. I moded one of my competitors cars and he seems to be having no problems. ( we do wheel to wheel road racing, which is really hard on brakes). I recommend you buy your own rotors locally to save on shipping charges. If your interested I can send you some pictures, but I won't be able to until next week....going "up north" for the weekend.

I would be intrested in that too. Do you mod MY bracket or are you going to mod a new bracket for $300?

The Porsche big brake kits are $2000 (Prospeed) - $2800 (Movit). I have the LG G-Stop C5 front brakes, and they are great for the street/autox. They work on the road course, but don't have the consistancy that the Porsche brakes will have. The Wilwoods are also a nice setup.

I run the Baer Extreme+ kit with Alcon 6 Piston calipers. It's a little pricy ($3600.) but works great!

In response to Kuppler, The modified spindles are $100 if you supply the spindle. I've been wheel to wheel roadracing my '95 for years now on my ZR1 brakes with excellent results.

apex i would love to see some pics, also some info on how you "modify the spindles and add a bracket" maybe I can do it my self ----- just need to know what all is involved in that kind of project. I don't doing any type of racing-----just looking for better performance. First of all the rotors warp easily (have arady had them resurfaced once and they are starting to need it again -- cost almost 100 bucks) , also looking at it as a safety issue.
