Who has a good sleeper cam?

I'm looking for a sleeper cam I can use with headers and a quiet exhaust set up. I don't want crazy lift or revs, becuase I don't want to deal with the valvetrain maintenance. Suggestions? Experience?

GM has the LS-6 cam, nice stock idle and better topend pull.

Plus you can add the 1.85 rockers!!!

I'm thinking of yanking out the TR 224 and going with that one.

Figgin don't like the hard starts and the surging I have now

you cant add 1.8RRs at least not with an 02 ls6 cam.

ls6 cam is good due to its price, stockish idle,0 loss of driveability and youll only need to add springs for it to work.LPE just recently came out with a cam thats supposed to idle like stock and make more power than ls6 cam.

I would like more in the usable powerband instead of a little jump up high, like with the ls6. Yeah I have thought about that GT2-3 cAM. I want it to make more power than the LS6 cam.

Do you have the LS-6 cam?

I thought you could use the 1.8rr with it

There's also the LS-6 road racing cam.

Easy there, I ment LS-6.

Also going from your 2000 LS-1 cam you'll pick up more than a little topend with the LS-6.

What are you looking for anyway 1/4 mile difference or just to have extra power.

yes i do.i was going to go with 1.8 RRs in addition with this cam but SLP told me id have clearance problems.they might work with an 01 ls6 cam but not an 02.those rockers are designed to work on a stock or low lift cammed car.

ive never heard of an ls6 road racing cam.is it a GM part?

Even with an 03 LS6 cam I would pick up only 20-30 hp, and it would all be up at the top. Id rather have a wider power band and less revs.

Any medium sized cam will sound tame with a stock exhaust, you can
always add a cutout for power at the track. Tr220 will not be noticable
to somebody who doesn't know the car. I've even heard a MTI 112lsa
cam, I forget which (I think T1), it was burbly.. but nothing insane. I'd
say anything with a 114lsa with a stock exhaust wouldn't be that
noticable. I personally went with xe-r 224 with stock exhaust,
due to the police station in my neighborhood. and the extreme
harassment I get (searching my car, etc).
