white smoke from below hood

Guys, I wonder if anya u guys came across this but it's happened thrice for the last 5 days or so while driving. But by the time I pull over to open the hood smoke's subsided. It appears for a good 3 seconds at a time from passenger side hood somewhere north of the battery. Took it to the mechanic today he too is clueless. No burnt wires or harnesses visible. I am sure I saw it coming from right under the hood. Would anyone know what it could be? Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for it, you could be right as i last week put a brand new radiator and coolant and the engine now heats up unlike before to almost 112C when the max used to be 100C. Is there a co-relation? Looks like the shop guy hasnt done it proper.

Coolant has a very distinctive smell...do you not smell it? Especially when you are driving and come to a stop?

I've had issues with coolant leaks in the past, so now I'm like a bloodhound with the stuff...first whiff and I'm under the hood. (Although I've solved my issues for the time being) :luck:

Re: white smoke from below hood

with it over-heating there is a very specific process in bleeding air out of the coolant line. The mechanic probably did it wrong. I'm guessing you living in Dubai, there arent alot of camaro's around so thats understandable. look up a good guide on the internet.

as for the leak, it doesnt take alon of coolant on a hot engine part to expell alot of white steam.
