Post Wheel mounted stereo controls on Z28?

When did they start putting radio controls on the steering wheel in Z28's??? Pardon my ignorance on the subject, but I thought that was a Firebird thing.....?????

OH ! Oh! Mr Kotter !! I know !!

This was an option starting in '00 model year.

Sadly, they :

A) Did away w/ the fat steering wheel to do this

B) Decided to up the wattage level to 500 from the prior 200 as well !

Ah, well - I figure that (potentially) I have less to go wrong on the SS w/o it !!

I just had to replace a woofer in my 2002 z28. I think they uped the amp and left the speakers the same.

amps been the same, instead of rating it at 200 watts RMS, they changed it to the ear apealing 500 max watts. The amp has the internals of an old RF amp I bielieve, not bad but nothing special. It has stayed at the same output. I have blown 2 subs in my 02. So i said screw it, tearing the monsoon crap out for the stuff in my sig.
