What's This Tool For?

What's This Tool For?
I just bought a set of MSD 8.5mm Super Conductors and they came with a blue crimping tool with 8 little rings on it (each of them are numbered 1-8).
What is this tool used for and are the numbered rings for the wires in order to identify each cylinder number?

crimping tool is to crimp the ends to the wires. and yes the numbered rings are to help you identify the cylinders the wires go to. but kinda hard to mess up on a LS1.

Re: What's This Tool For?
Thanks for the info., but I'm still in the dark a little.
What do the wires need to be crimped for? I went outside with one MSD wire and it looks like it's going to fit perfectly no matter what cylinder I put it on. I just pull out the factory one and replace it with the MSD, right?
Also, why would the numbered rings need to be a guide to help me identify the cylinders the wires go to, if all the wires are the same, it shouldn't matter what cylinder number I put each new wire on, right?
