I have hit it once, but that's not the way to find out. Is it 5800 or 6K ??

 

99.9% sure the fuel cutoff is at 6200.

 

I think he's right. I used to think it was 6000, but I just got back from the track, and I buried the needle well past 6k and it was still pulling. It was starting to scare me for a minute, it seemed like I had no limiter for some reason and was gonna blow my engine. But now I'm happy, if it is 6200.

 

They may have changed them on the newer cars, but my bone stock '99 is set from the factory @ 5800. Just flat runs out of fuel at that point.

I plan to get LS1 edit soon and change some things, but that is how mine is set for sure.

6200 I bumped mine up to 6700, because that is about all the stock internals can safely handle.. I hit the rev limiter in 5th at 6700, and it is scary...

 

it is 6200...

for you guys who think tthere rev limiter is lower.... your tach is off.. get a shift light common problem on the newer cars.. seems like it gets ore accurate the higher the gear your in..

....Yeah the tach is a bit slow in 1st and 2nd for me ....the tach shows 5800rpm in first at wot when it hits the limiter ,6000rpm in second ,and from third up the tach will go to 6200rpm......I think its just lazy......


I have had the car at 6100rpm in 5th with the shift light on (6000rpm pill).....ran out of speedo..and gear.....oh well.....oh well
