Re: Whats the best car cover to use that won't scratch the paint?
It's generally not the car cover that scratches the paint. It's the grit and abrasives already on the paint that the car cover massages while it's on the car, as well as going on and coming off. I stopped using one with my '85 Trans Am when I started noticing the fine scratches. My '96 Z-28 survived without a cover, and my '02 SS is doing fine, too.
What I would be interested in is a canopy to protect my vehicle from the hot San Diego sun . . . Any suggestions?
