You weld them under your car to the frame rails and they basically strengthen the frame. This reduces body vibrations and gives the car a much more "solid" feel. The frame will flex less and improve cornering and the feel of the car. Definitely one of the first mods that should be done. Still gotta get mine.

Sub frame connectors do exactly that.
They are some form of tube that is welded or bolted from the front sub frame to the back sub frame making a total frame instead of having just the body hook them together.

Our cars are what are called "uni-body" cars. We don't have a true chassis that the cab rests on. All of the pieces help support each other. Only problem with that is any weak are will show itself. In our cars, they are so powerful and heavy that they actually flex and twist. Subframe connectors attach the front and rear subframes together creating a middle subframe. SFC's can either be welded on or bolted on. For the best results they should be welded, but if you have a collector car, a might want to return it to 100% stock someday, then bolt ons would do just fine. The same holds true for anybody that isn't comfortable welding something to their car and making a permanent change to it.
