What is the nastiest sounding cam I can use with stock heads?

Hey guys, I want my car to idle like an offshore powerboat. I love that lumpy big cam sound. Being on a college budget, I dont have the kinda scratch to do the whole heads and cam thing. I have an 02 LS6 cam laying around, but I want something that sounds mean. Whats the biggest cam, that makes good power, with the choppiest idle that I can use with stock heads? I have an M6, and will be going to 3.73's in the spring after the car comes out of storage.

I have a G5X-2 and it sounds mean. I would say any cam with a 112lsa would sound mean.

Our 231/237, .598"/.595", 112LSA sounds mean. There is a sound clip somewere on LS1tech.com. I could not find it earlier. We had a sound clip around the shop...I'll try and find it. If you like choppy, you'll like this cam!

That's the one. We had a customer that had his idle set at 750 with this cam. We had a sound clip of it, but I don't know where it is. Sounded really nasty. He didn't keep it that way too long. I believe he has it set around 850-900 now.

You may want to look into the GM Hotcam. If you are on a budget, it is a good deal. Springs, cam, and retainers for less than $400. I dynoed 381 rwhp/373 rwtq with mine.
