Where would you find the code that tells you what gears you have? Just picked the car up a few weeks ago and I have no clue.

Look at the driver side door. There should be a sticker there with a bunch of number/letter codes.

I believe this is the codes for the gears, If im wrong someone please correct me:

GU2=2.73(base for Z/28 auto's)
GU4=3.08(haven't heard of this gear being used recently)
GU5=3.23(option for Z28 auto's)
GU6=3.42(SS,Z28 6 speeds)

3.08's are still used in the V6 Camaros/Firebirds with the A4. However, 3.42's are optional with the A4, or they use 3.23's with the M5.

You are correct about the V8 cars though (Z28's/TA's/SS's/WS6's):
- 2.73's are standard with the A4 (3.23's are an option).
- 3.42's are standard with the M6 --- no option.

I guess only the V6 guys could say for sure, but that's what the book listed as the options.
