what free mods are there for 00 ls1?

If i get an aftermarket lid would i still benefit from raising it up with washers like some do with stock lid?

Yes raising it would still help, the only other free mod I recommend is the TB bypass.

Don't forget removing the screen from MAF.

are there any instructions on the net on how to do the tb bypass? will it give a noticeable gain? and if i remove the screen wont that mess the maf up like it does on most v6 cars? whats the performance gain by removing maf and whats the 1/4 difference? thanks guys, you are way more helpfull then the v6 peeps

Installuniversity.com under install documents, it has directions on how to do the TB bypass. I wouldn't say the gain is noticable but it has been dyno proven for 6rwhp. Unlike most of the free mods where people say it "feels" faster or credit a slightly better track time to a free mod.

You should do a search of the descreening, it's been argued about.
