what does it take to get 650hp?

Just wondering, what does it take to get a 2000 SS into the 650 Hp range and how much it would cost?

thanks ---Mike

I'd say heads & cam and a ~200 shot of nitrous should do it. Cost? I dunno ... a couple grand?? To do it RIGHT though (in a manner that will last more than 1 or 2 good runs) it'll cost you a little more.

low compression lsx, aggressive cam, stage 2.5 or 3 heads, fi with about 16-18 psi, 42+lb injectors, tune, ls6 or fast 90 intake

I'm curious, would it be possible to obtain that kind of power without any type of poweradder? (Turbo, SC, N20) While keeping it fairly streetable?

Sure, it could be done without a power adder. Stock displacement, no way. You would need a large stroker, some AMAZING heads, a large solid roller cam, and a beefy bottom end. Realistically though, i doubt it would be very streetable.

It is certainly possible to hit 650hp at the flywheel N/A in an LS1.

Our 408's routinely make over 625hp with good heads and a FAST 90/90 set-up.

If you use a lot of juice for your power ou can maintain quite a bit of streetablility.

Cam specs aren't something we advertise, no offense taken I hope.

That is a 408 iron, so its 4.030 bore x 4.000 stroke

Customers get full build sheets and specs for every part they order, cam specs included.

So why hide it? How about some links to dyno sheets showing the results?
