What does an LS1 need to run mid 12's?? coming from a Supra guy ;)
Ok,
YES i own 2 Supras
YES, i REALLY REALLY Love and Respect the LS1
(i had an Lt1 WS6 Ram Air and the LS1 really
impresses me)...
ok let's get down to it
I get tons and tons of little ricer kids in my area gawking at my Supra(s) whenever i drive them in town.
They always always ask about it, how fast, 1/4 mile etc etc.
Usually i have my 2 buddies with me, LS1 SS and
LS1 WS6 (both unreal AWESOME cars!)
These people don't get that the LS1 is amazing, all they care about is the import.
POINT IS: i try to convince these "know it alls" that the LS1 is one amazing engine, because i got to the track and see
many guys running mid and high 12's with just bolt ons, which is very impressive.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO to get like a 12.4
BECAUSE:
i want to be able to tell these people that
with a few bolt ons like "BLANK and BLANK" these LS1's will
whoop on my Supra.
I just want to be a lil more knowlegeable on
exactly WHAT you guys put on the car (i know some do
heads and cam)???
and most are autos (so i assume stall and drags too)???
just let me know simply, so i can get some attention off myself, and onto the LS1 boys- because frankly, i'm
tired of it, because i've seen many an LS1 faster than my
"ALMIGHTY" Supra (as they call it).
thanks guys!

With heads/cam, if you are talking stage I that is mid-low 12's easy, and if you are talking stage 2 that is mid-high 11s.
Like my man said, headers/exhaust and a set of DRs will get you there...a cam may be useful, too..

to get LOW 12's
bolt on's-cutout, pulley, longtubes w/o cats. FT ram air, tires. Stall if auto, nittos, air box lid.
ANd the big gun a thunder racing cam. Its actually not all that hard the motor stays in the car to install. THen you're looking at 390rwhp stick 360 rwhp auto + .
then rice can "move out the way" big tme. sticky Tires make a bigg difference, really.

Mid 12's....Hmm well being stock they can run like a 12.9 or something like that...Better tires...Better gears... lid and some exhaust work....that should do it.... Doesn't take much either way.

Sig - all bolt on, low to mid 12s, ... just depends upon the weather.
The secret to these cars is tires and suspension. You can do all the mods you want, but if you can put it to the ground you spin your way to high 12s and low 13s.
