I was wondering what you all think of the hooker exaust. It's a pretty good price and 3" all the way looks good. Anyone have any sound clips? Experience with it?

Ok I've pretty much narrowed it down to either FLowmaster American Thunder, SLP Loud Mouth, or Hooker's exaust. What's does everyone think? I plan on getting long tubes with in the year as well.

I have a hooker cat back and love it but if you want somthing loud it is not for you. It is just a little bit louder than stock at idle but with a much better sound. It dose get louder if you get on it. I have a sound clip but have no where to put it. If you give me an email I can send it to you.

Probably a good choice...

In the lower priced cat-backs, LoudMouth seems to be the most popular, but some find it too loud...

Hooker gets mentioned a lot as an alternative.

I want to replace the Flowmasters on both my cars with the muffler that comes with the Hooker catback. I don't know where to look for it though. Any help?

www.thunderracing.com has a hooker muffler but i don't know if it is the same one that comes with the cat back.

Real Dual Exhaust

Have any of you thought about doing away with that power and torque robbing "Y" pipe exhaust system and installing a real dual exhaust system on your car? You get a lot more performance. I have a cat back real dual exhaust on my SS with both pipes exiting out the rear of the car from beneath the bumper just like the regular stock pipes and it is quiet inside the car with no drone. Those that exit out under the car before the axle doesn't come close to my exhaust system. I can ride down the road and talk to my friend in the seat beside me or listen to the radio, because as I stated earlier, it is quiet inside my car. Now, outside is another story. I have a sound that no "Y" pipe exhaust system can touch. The sound that only a real dual exhaust system can deliver. I will never, NEVER use a "Y" pipes exhaust system on anything ever again. I'll go with a real dual exhaust system every time. I don't have headers on my car, but with the dual exhaust system that I have I could install headers.

When I see some Dyno-proven gains with a true dual setup, then I'll worry about spending the cash for it. For now a cut-out is just fine for me.

If you're looking the the hooker aerochamber muffer; try summitracing.com I believe they have them pretty cheap.

I went with the hooker cause I've heard the loudmouth (awesome sound) but the drone would drive me nuts. Especially when I get my LTs installed. Sooo.... hooker seemed the best. I would have definately wanted Corsa but too much $$$.
