What do you think about buyin this?

So theres a 2000 WS6, plenty of mods, Z06 rims on it, raptor hood w/heat extractors, SLP loudmouth, Lid, K&N Filter, plenty more. But it is in Alabama...so I wont be able to test drive it. If I have the guy take it to a mechanic, and everything tests out, what would you think about buying it? Car looks great, and I'm pretty interested in it.
Thanks for your opinion.

I would personally only buy a car that was stock or very lightly modded. A heavily modded car usually means abuse. That car seems to be moderately modded. Keep looking.

Exclamation

Is that the one in the For Sale section on this board?

Anyway... I would never buy a car sight unseen.

If you are very interested in it, get your financing etc. ready and buy a plane ticket to fly where ever the car is and if it checks out OK, just drive it home. If not, you have a plane ticket to go back home.

Many people have had good luck w/buying cars just based on the description and pics, but many have been burned, so be careful.

Good luck!

yep. there's gotta be one closer to your area where you can put your hands on it; something more tangible. I agree with the excess mod's "red flag"... not many muscle car guys modify their cars and keep them as Sunday drivers, capice?

I'd pass.

Yes, It is the one in the For Sale section. I'm really considering the flying-down there idea, and getting a hands on look...its just there aren't many up in Indy this time of year - last one i saw had too many problems for me to deal with. Anyone else got any ideas I could use?

I wouldn't buy a car with performance mods.

You never can tell who has abused a car and who hasn't. Having lots of mods doesn't necessarily mean they beat the living crap out of the car. I have quite a few on mine and its running like a champ (granted it is a 2001). I drive it like it was meant to be driven I went to the dealership years ago and test drove a 98 camaro with 0 mods on it and that thing was making horrible noise and running like crap. I'd recommend checking any car out in person before making the presumption that since it has mods it was abused.

These are pretty standard mods for a WS6 or a camaro. I wouldn't rule it out just because it has an SLP loudmouth, lid, K&n filter etc. Those would probably be the first mods you would have done after you got it. Check it out in person. Never buy a car without seeing/inspecting and driving it.
