Re: What do u guys get for MPG?

In slow & go traffic, around town I get 19-20 MPG. On the freeway, 26+, depending upon my speed.

Re: What do u guys get for MPG?

I recently got between 20-21 mpg on a trip from Phoenix to Tucson on I10. However I normally get 11-12 mpg in town.

Course it is a little hard to stay out of the throttle with the LS2 402.

Re: What do u guys get for MPG?

I get less than 15 with mixed city and highway driving...That would make mine one of the worse performing camaros here. What RPM do you guys shift at and what tune do you recommend for better MPG? I Shift around 2000 RPMs. My dad drives the car too though and I think he hits WOT a lot.

The highways here aren't flat either though. That might account for some pretty big differences in highway MPG.

I love that chart...I gotta start one of those one of these days. I bet you miss those $20 fill-ups. Now they're up to $35.

i probably shift around 2000, also does having the skip shift on really conserve that much gas?

LT-14me, you don't need a gas gauge to figure your gas milage. Top off your
tank when you fill up & write down the miles on your car. Then next time you get gas top the tank off again, then divide how much gas you used into how many miles you've driven. So only your odometer has to work. But if you've changed tire size {different tire height} and not re-calibrated your speedometer it will not be accuate. My gas gauge works 'funny' also. My car will go 275 miles from a full tank to 1/4 tank & then go 25 miles from 1/4 to empty..... Hope this helps, Bill

Re: What do u guys get for MPG?

Its real simple to do a spreadsheet and get a real view of it over time. The only thing is that you have to keep a record of every gas purchase and the mileage of it.. and you have to FILL IT UP everytime..

I dont baby it and when I do cruise control it, its at about 85-90mph. I shift at 3K-RL depending on the mood.

Re: What do u guys get for MPG?

I have been keeping track of mpg every fillup for the last 1+ yr and average 15-16 with 70% city driving. On a recent highway trip of 100 miles one way and 100 one way back I got 25.8. I drive like grandma of slower around town shifting at 2K rpm and still get bad mileage in town. I have tried shifting from 1-3-4 and 1-3-5 and that kills the mileage since I'm having to give more gas to get going at such a low rpm. I used to get 16 just driving hard around town with lots of wot runs. I'm gonna try that again = the wot runs. Here in Ca I'm paying 3.15+ for premium.
