Where did he get one for 75 bucks? I'd go for one of those for 75 bucks for sure!

PS... I have seen a Pulley/DR 03 Cobra run 11's... repeatedly. This car had less than 5k on the clock, and is probably considerably faster now. Guess it just depends how soon you are willing to blow your motor to get into the 11's with those blue ovals

He bought it on Ebay. Somebody had wrecked a 2001 Trans Am and was piecing it out. He listed it as an LS1 intake. My son emailed him and verified that it was the stock intake from his 2001 Trans Am. Since my son knew all LS1s that year came with the LS6 intakes he made sure he won the auction. He bought it for $60 and paid $15 for shipping. He was very lucky!

Wow! that was very lucky. I'd keep an eye on ebay and the for sale section here over the next few months. I could be wrong but I heard the LSX has finally hit some stores and you may see a handful of LS6 guys upgrade and sell thier used LS6 for a decent price.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

what about that new lsx intake manifold? Will that help more than a ls6 intake and the holley/lingenfelter manifold?

I know the LS6 intake manifold is supposed to add 10 HP over the LS1 intake. The LSX intake manifold is supposed to add 15 HP over the stock LS1 intake. So from what I read the LSX is good for 5 HP over the LS6.

I have no idea about the holler/lingenfelter.

OK this guy has an M6 so he cant get a torque converter....
And I have seen a a stock 03 cobra run a 11.9.....it can be done.

And for 12's all you need is a set of long tube headers and your there. Along with the accessories: y-pipe and exhaust. So in other words, full exhaust and your there.

On my 98 T/A i have an LS6 intake, flowmaster exhaust (i know) a new MAF a new throttle body, and mid length headers and i ran a 12.5

i dont know what you saw running 11.9 stock but it was no 03 cobra.thats stock z06 territory and it just isnt happening.there just isnt enough power and tire for them to hit 11s unmodded.it wont take much for them to hit 11s but itll never happen stock.what you saw wasnt a stock car.

I ran 13.7 totally stock and my first time at a track in my life, and a best of 13.2 with very simple mods, mostly free, so I would say that are cars take better to mods then the cobras. But like with any car it all depends on the person behind the wheel.
If you believe that your being nieve..Since you wanna quote various board quarter mile times Ill guess Ill throw in the numerous 12.3 bone stock times ive seen on the corral and mach1registry out of factory stock 03 Cobra. MM&FF and JDM engineering also pulled very similar times factory stock....Cobra responds extremely well to simple mods because of the blower and the rock solid bttm end. I love the LS1 but dont fool yourself. The terminator has risen the bar of performance without even going anywhere near the engine.

Hey man I just know what I seen at the track, so judging by that I think the guys on the board didnt lie. I was talking to a guy at work and his best friend has a cobra and stock he was stuck at 12.9 all summer, since than he done some mods, guy at work thinks it was just a pulley, drag radials and new exaust, and he now hit 11.8, in the fall. cant wait til this summer.
