What to do ?
If its an auto get a stall and drag radials as first mods. Otherwise get Pacesetter headers theyre excellent for the price and u get the same gains as the higher priced headers. 13000 is really low mileage congrats. What did u pay for her?

I will NEVER buy another K&N product, or reccomend it to anybody. They are overpriced junk IMO. That and I don't like the idea of the possibility of oil being sucked into the MAF, throttle body, intake...etc etc

I've never heard that problem with an air filter before, of any brand. And if you are worried that you might get oil on the MAF, throttle body, intake, and such then don't over saturate the element.

I didn't think it would be the filter that was making it pop, but it was. It was doing it for at least 2 months. I changed nothing on the car in those two months, then one day changed the filter. It hasn't popped since, even in really cold weather. Regardless, it's not worth the money IMO
(60 bucks for a filter? Bah)
Re: What to do ?
Did you get a tube of KY with that $60 filter? Someone reemed ya on that one.
I've been running K&N for years and have yet to have any of the issues you mentioned. As for the oil on the MAF, if this happens just clean it off with a shot of TB or electrical contact cleaner. Problem solved.
Camaro Chris,
Do yourself a favor and get some subframe comnnectors on it ASAP. This cuts down on rattles later.
Your SLP lid is one of the best. GMHTP did a comparison on lids and the SLP was great on fit & finish (ex. I had to use foam to seal my LS1 motorsport lid correctly, it wasn't sealing well on the backside) and the SLP lid dynoed as one of the best.
Long tubes, I'd go either Pacesetter or Flowtech. They all make about the same power. Difference in price is the difference in material.
Holley and Barry Grant also make washable reusable filters. Just shop around or watch for a used one.
Also, those 18" wheels will slow you down. Just an FYI.

Re: What to do ?
The SLP Lid fits perfectly now, it took me a while to figure it out but i tightened everything up from the smooth bellows to the lid and i never had it on right. U just gotta make sure its on right, it fits perfectly now. And i would stay away from the SLP LT's unless u watch out for them. Goodluck though

Rides as smooth or rough as it does without them. Feels tighter in hard corners though.
