What to do?

1. Big cam with shorties and dyno tuning
or
B. Hotcam with pacesetter LT's and stock tune

Both would be with current mods(see sig). Already have the shorties. Driven daily and some time at the dragstrip.

I'm leaning to the big cam because with tuning it will still probly run better than with hotcam on stock tune. And the big cam leaves the option open for LT's later(but it will be awhile if I do).
By big cam I am talkin about 230 range duration. Was recommended a 230/232 duration, .573"/.575", 111lsa by Combination Motorsports for my current mods and describing what I want.
What would be the difference in power?

are you taking into account that you could turn around and sell the shorties to help pay for a tune with the hc and lt's?

i say if you are going to go throught the hassle of the cam...put in a decent one

so big cam, pull the shorties and sell them, buy lt's and get a tune

hotcams are great but any cam NEEDS a tune to run at max performance...sell the shorties, grab the LTs and ur cam of choice and tune the thing into a beast....

by the way judging by those cam specs, you can look forward to a ROOOUUUGGGHHH idle and some pretty terrible gas mileage...if that doesn't matter, go for it cuz ull be makin GOOOD power with that thing but honestly, there is a such thing as too much cam....especially for a daily driven car....i suggest something in the 220 or 224 range with a 112 or better lsa...

Rough idle is good but bad fuel economy is not good.

How bad is the gas mileage compared to a 224 112lsa? Anyone know?

I love my big cam! The power is great with the new heads and the tuning makes it really nice to drive.
