valvetrain knock
valvetrain knock
Okay...it has been pinpointed to the pushrod/rocker 2nd from the back on the drivers side. The pushrod isnt bent, and the rocker is good too. when the car was on with the valve cover off, the mechanic said there wasn't enough oil getting in there... I can see how that would lead to a knock, but I am getting plenty of oil pressure. Are there common problems with our oil pressure guages or pumps? Could it be a lifter or cam bearing???I need some opinions! Thanx.

for my reference.
Assuming there is not a mechanical defect causing the oil to not get to the lifter, perhaps you could try some Marvel mystery oil & see if it does any good.
Certainly can't hurt.
FWIW, a cam & lifters install (if needed/desired) runs about 1K.
Not too horrible, but then again that's a matter of perspective.
When I was in college, 1K = dam near a whole month's work during the summer !
Good Luck !
