What to do with +-$1000?

Mods in sig. I was thinking about either 1. a cam, 2. a clutch (which one?), 3. pullies& ls6 intake&what else?, or 4. more suspension (what parts?).

Which one of these 4 options would you get? If #3 what else would you get?

This is without install and LS1 edit. I can get those too for a good price.

I don't need DR's because I don't race my car at the track hardly at all and no N20. If my motor blows I won't have enough money for another one.

Thanks.

I have sub frames and wheels too. My clutch is fine right now also.

Tell us what you want to do with your car first. Are you more of a show person? Drag racer? Auto-cross?

We can then make some recommendations

Street Strip, but mostly street. I'll drag it after major mods, so not more than a few times a year. I'm not into AutoX and I'd rather be fast than pretty.

Get gears.

A cam is good..but I would do that when you install heads too...why pay for the labor twice if you can do it at the same time (assuming you're not installing it yourself).

A clutch is always a good idea..however if yours is working fine I would stick with that until you start adding significant power.

Suspension,
LCAs and brackets (they will plant your tires to the ground). I think you said you had SFCs already.

Good luck!

Well the install and ls1edit is not a problem. It looks like I'm leaning towards the cam.

My recommendation is pulleys and (although you say you don't want it) some Nitto drag radials. Two of the best mods for the buck to improve your performance. Gears would be right in there too. All quite within budget.

The only reason that I don't want nittos is because I hardly ever take my car to the track. If I raced it a lot at the track, that would have been my first mod!

I never hit the track. I got the nittos because they are a better ROAD tire than a TRACK tire. BFGs are better for the track, whereas Nittos are designed for someone who 'may' occassionally hit the track, but for the most part, just wants to be able to launch hard on the road. Still think it is the best upgrade I did. And they look a lot better than the F1s.

My Nittos kick *** at the track...however sometimes suck in the rain (I have have the extreme drag radials on my car).

Oh yeah... I agree with you. They are great for the track (I didn't mean to insinuate otherwise). Knocked 2/10th off for me. You might get a little more out of the BFGs on a prepped track, but on the road the Nittos will hang with the stickier BFGs (while giving you a better tread life and better - although not great - traction in the rain).

I have no problem with my nittos (NT-555R) in the rain, and it rains in BC continuously!!! I only sliding if I goose it - but then again, I wouldn't dream of racing in the rain even with tires that gripped like a tank's treads...

Nittos extreme drags are far better than I ever imagined.

How long do they last compared to a regular tire?
