What are Codes?

What are Codes?

I hear this word a lot. I just read a thread about misfiring and the word Code came up a lot. So..What is a CODE?

service engine codes.....u can get them retrieved at autozone

What.... so like your computer will make a code when a problem develops and you have to go to Autozone to get them to determine what the code means?

u can also buy autotap for that....

I Understand GM is all upset with place like Auto Zone for offering this serivce. That is rediculous. Dont they make enough on their parts prices?

im sure they are because they would charge like 60 bucks to tell you wtah the code is and then 100 to clear it

I heard here in cali they legally can't advertise retreiving codes for free, but if you go and ask them, they will do it. Also valveline oil/lube shops will did it too.
