got a question maybe some of you can help out
i have a 98 Trans Am and when i first start the engine it makes kind of a high pitched humming like noise sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt, but it goes away within 15-20 seconds never did it before and its kind of concerning, any ideas to what it might be?

The air pump comes on at startup, if it has a bearing going bad or something might be the source of your noise. You could pull it's fuse and see if noise goes away, but don't know if that would set off SES.

sounds like the air pump to me as well. should be inside the fender well behind the driver side headlight.
either pull the fuse to see if it stops or have someone start the car and listen for it.
