alternator is pretty straight forward, just a bit cramped

as for the waterpump, i think www.ls1howto.com or www.ls1camaro.net has an install guide for an electric wp on the ls1. that should give you the general idea of how to pull the pump.

alternator is just 3 bolts and a wire.....

I need the part number for that single wire connector. The dealer I went to couldn't come up with that part. Funny cuz they tried to look in a parts book since the system only came up with a four wire connector and the book only went up to 96 models. Anyway do I need this dam thing or can I just get the four wire connector? I do need the four wire connector for sure, but the single one is in question now.

As you can see I am leaking PWR steering fluid onto the alternator. I took off the the 4 wire connector and red Pwr steering fluid was inside. My guess is that the leaking steering fluid fried the wires.

The arrows are pointing to the connection in question.
