Warranty ?

I am taking my car into the dealer to get the dreaded pulley chirp repaired under warranty. Will the fact that I have an SLP lid and a smooth bellows cause any warranty issues?

I would like to say NO with confidence, but as of yet, I've never taken my car in for any mechanical warranty work where they would even notice my aftermarket lid, exhaust, etc. However, as far as I know, the only reason those parts would *potentially* void your warranty is if it was an ENGINE problem that they thought they could blame the lid/bellows on. A squeaky pulley is a squeaky pulley, and is not affected by the air intake into the engine! Therefore, I say it should NOT be a problem.

I would have to agree. I work at a dealer but since it is a chrysler/jeep service dept. we do not get too many modded 300m's

My sister's fiance took his mustang to our ford dept. and he has intake/flowmaster/and h- pipe and he was worried that they might void him. the adjuster is coming out today to check out the trans problems. he should be okay because those minor mods will not affect the synchros in the trans.

however he had a problem with the abs light coming on so i got it checked before hand and it came up as the abs module. he has a tach in his car and they told him that whoever installed it tappedinto wires and that might cause the light so that will not be covered

good luck

Shouldn't be an issue at all. The only thing that would "void" a warranty would be if it could be shown that an aftermarket part would have led to the damage or defect.

I might be concerned if you had an aftermarket U/D pulley, but a lid and bellows won't be an issue.

Just got it back, all the bastages did was replace the belts. I told them exactly what was wrong and which pulley was chirping, geeze........ I called and told them it is still chirping, they said they would fix it when the new seat adjuster(the second one of those I've had replaced) comes in. I know I should just buy the pulley and replace it myself but the car is still under warranty and I'm not made of money. At least I got new belts out of the deal.

Zerocool - how many miles do you have ?? It might be too late

I would go to the dealer that you bought it from and ask if you can still purchase an extended warranty. if you can I suggest that you do buy it. It may cot around $ 1200-1500 but it is worth it. As long as you are not full of mods

It pays for itself within 2-3 trips to the dealer. i paid around 1300 bucks for mine and i needed both front wheel bearings. i paid 50 bucks for the deduct and the warranty paid like 750. there is half already

i have an aftermarket pulley on my car.all i did was inform the tech. and serv. mngr. so they wouldnt have to bother ordering the belt.they still put the parts in no questions asked.

If you want recall & TSB information, this is one source:

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/

They have tabs at the top to search for service bulletins and recalls.

Search the web and you can find some others.

NO!! At least not one from a dealership.

I had the chirping problem as well. Took it into the dedaler four times. Each time I got it back with the noise. Finally said F$#@ it I bought an ASP Pulley for the car and was done with it.
