I don't think you are reading all that carefully. The GM rotors are the ones that are warping. The aftermarker "junk" as you call it, is not warping.

So basically, you have no idea what you are talking about since you've never dealt w/these parts. End of story. Its really funny that a friend of mine that does break for a living has commented on how crappy the stock rotors are too. If you want to go to the dealer and pay more for parts fine by me. Do you think Good Years are the best because they're OEM too?

The point is you're talking a lot of trash to people w/more experience and knowlege than you. Otherwise you'd know there are other factors besides driving style that can effect rotors. I guess since you've had your car for less than a month you're an LS1 guru too. Its obvious you can't support your position.

had the lt1 to buddy...even smaller rotors....never a prob. sorry u seem to have bad luck with ur brakes pal.
me...and..expert?.....hardly an expert. its not like i gave anyone any advice or instruction to begin with. if u dont like my comments.....oh well....im sorry. id be just happy with the oem tires too. its not like i drive the hell out of it constantly. i have the cheap kumho 275/40/17s. why....because it gets me by. if i want to hook up at the track...i'll use my drag radials.

As stated before, maybe you should do a search before you start popping off like its our fault the rotors warp easily. Or at the least know what you're talking about. It isn't just me w/the problem junior. If you knew anthing you'd also know that there are more factors than breaking hard at high speeds that'll warp a rotor. You've only had your car a few weeks, give it time and see. Then you can talk trash. Until then maybe you should listen more and talk less.

W/your mentality, everyone w/piston slap must be ragging on their engines because you don't have piston slap. My car doesn't burn oil, I guess that means all the people that has an engine that consumes oil is driving incorrectly too.

my car is on the original rotors and pads. prior owner never had a problem. like i said....i dont drive the hell out of the car. the better u take car or ur stuff......the longer it lasts....but u already know that.

o yea....if its an engine....it burns oil. if its an ls1....its almost certain to have piston slap from the factory whether its an fbody..vette...or truck ls1. how do i know?? my roomate is a gm tech at the local chevy dealer, but u really dont care about that.

Not all LS1 have piston slap or burn oil. Mine doesn't. My bro-n-laws Z71 doesn't either.

Like I said, give your rotors time. It's not like I'm the only one w/the problem. Go to a Grand Am board and you'll hear the same thing from the 99+ GA owners (as well as the other N-bodies), but your friend is a tech, so you must know that.

All this from a little boy that can't even install an air lid correctly.

I can see the reason he tells you to shut up. Maybe its because you react to him the same way you did on this thread. Can't tell you anything because you already know it all.

Warping rotors is just a general problem that these cars have. We just have to deal with. Not everybody's rotors will warp though. It is the luck of the draw I guess. My rotors warped on my previous 2000 Firebird within 10,000 miles. The fastest I went in it was about 90 mph. Funny somebody mentioned the 99+ grand-ams as well. I had a 99 grand am GT and the rotors warped at 7000 miles. The dealer helped me out however and gave me two replacement sets because he knew it was a problem with the cars. On a more serious note, how is it possible that a young GM tech thinks F-body's suck?

he just dont like the later model fbodys...he dont even like vettes. hes into typhoons and k5 blazers. hes seen to many door skins fall off fbodys. i think they are cheaply made too, but i like em cuz they are cheap and go fast.

I've had the same dealership crap happen to me, warped at 7k miles... they gave me an hour long run around, wouldnt even resurface them, so I just bought new rotors at a local shop, they've lasted 2x as long aso far...

I bet whoa guy works at one of the dealerships that give us the run-around when it comes to our crappy stock rotors He's the dude that says...

"Yeah since we thought the car was abused, we took the liberty of examining the clutch. Whoever *nudge nudge* drives this car must suck at it, because the rotors are warped, the clutch shows signs of xyz, and yaddda yadda"

Yep, thats what I got at the dealership. Sure, I'm only 19, but it's my car, I pay for it... And you're going to tell me I suck? Get a life.

Wow, you sound like you're about 14 years old. Notice how everyone is saying '98 and later f-bodies? Did you miss that part, or can you just not admit that you are wrong? Nobody is talking about the LT1 car's brakes. Do a search, you'll find tons of info on rotor warpage in LS1 cars. So, who's the jackass now?
