vibration while braking.

so my car has just over 5k miles, and when i hit the brakes the car will give a little vibration, and it will also give some feedback in the stearing wheel. i have heard about problem with warping the roters, but i dont drive it all that hard, and i only got alittle more the 5000 miles. just wanted some ideas on this from some people who may have seen or had this problem before.

Yep, you got warped rotors. Get used to it. I had to do mine every so often. So enough the rotors wore too thin and I had to have them replaced.

Can almost guarantee that it's the rotors. Costs about 50 bucks to have them turned, so it's not that big a deal. My mechanic told me that after 20K, it was an easy shave and it could be done a couple more times easy. When they finally give it up, it'll be time for Eradispeed or Powerslot w/durastop pads (but you can't turn slotted rotors, from what I understand). I have NO doubt, I'll get corrected here if I'm wrong!

Rotors are only covered for 12K and 12 months. The dealer shoud turn them for you free. Later>>>>>>>>>>>

You can, as long as the cutting does not have to be too deep. But 1 cut is it. Then the slots are gone. But, they can still be used just like non-slotted rotors then.

I warped my rotors twice withing the first 10k miles. Since that I have learned that you HAVE to torque the lugs to spec (100 ft. lbs.) when rotating tires which is something I didn't do, I just ran them on tight with the air gun like I have for every car/truck I've ever owned.

Since I now torque the lugs to spec, I have had NO warping problems whatsoever (18k miles) and I have road raced, autocrossed, drag raced and I drive it hard on the street (daily driver).

This has happened twice with my 2001 Z28. It was covered by the warrenty both times. The first time at 7000 miles they turned the front rotors. The second time at 15000 miles they replaced the front rotors. Take it back to the dealer and let GM fix it. If your still having problems after the warrenty runs out then buy the better ones.

Just my opinion.

Good Luck!
