Valve Train Noise
Hi, I'm new here. I have a problem looming with my car. I hope someone can help. Thanks.
2000 Z/28, stock LS1/SB-2 engine, 53,000 miles (mostly interstate – I drive 87 miles one way to work) , Mobil 1 5w/30 since 1st change @ 1000 miles, AC UPF-44 Gold filter.
Problem - valve clatter in left bank @ 1900-2000 rpm.
Questions:
1. Does anyone here have first hand experience either with similar symptoms?
2. How does the valve lash adjustment differ from the interference thread nut on the SB-1?
3. Does anyone have first hand experience working on the valve train of the SB-2 in a Camaro?……Looks very hard to get at to me…..a real back breaker!
