valve slap

i have been going back and forth with a couple ideas i have for a engine mod with one of our sponsers. one of them is a rotating assembly. most cranks seem to be 4.00" stroke, with a option for 4.1", how do you tell if that will cause problems with valve slap. i have the prc 2.5 5.3 liter heads, not sure on the gaskets. wish a dish cut piston solve this regardless?

Re: valve slap

you need to check with the advanced tech guys. they know that stuff VERY well. I dont think it causes any problems, because TDC on stock LS1's is about as far as you can go piston peeks out above the deck anyway.

(this is all my own 2nd hand knowledge, so if I'm wrong corrrect me)

You are right, stroking a motor has nothing to do with the piston height. The stroker kit has pistons with raised wrist pin holes to keep the PH the same as stock.

the lift isnt the problem as much as the duration. the best way to tell is talk to someone with the exact same setup or more agressive setup. If they dont have problems then chances are you wont. But all in all, when its all being assembeled, you need to check PTV clearence with all cylinders if there is a chance of touching. Be safe not sorry.
