Valve cover removal on an LS1?

Does anybody have any secrets on how to reach the far back valve cover bolt? Am I missin something... this should be easy right?
I can barely get my hand in there, let alone a wrench.

I lost compression on the #4 cylinder, right after I heard a lifter tick.... Would really like to get it apart and find out what happend.

1/4'' drive ratchet with deep socket or a ratcheting box end wrench.
