Using Cable From OBDI W/OBDII Conector On a OBDII Car?. (Messed Up Gauages)
Using Cable From OBDI W/OBDII Conector On a OBDII Car?. (Messed Up Gauages)
I have a 95 camaro that is OBDI with OBDII adapter. I figured it was just a standard OBDII adapter. SO I was going to use digimoto program on his car to check some stuff one, he has a 04 GTO... Now when he pluged it in it turned out I didnt have drivers for the USB adapter.. so I unpluged it and took it in the house to try to find the driver. then said when we was on his way home there was electrical problems (tach not working, fuel gauage problem).. he never had these problems before.
this cable just says OBDII on the back, is it not just a standard OBDII connector?..
it is posable that it was made wrong.. could 2 of the pins be connected or something cause this?..

My sisters 03 Cavalier exhibited those EXACT same symptoms after the local emissions station performed the semi-annual emission test. Both the tachometer and the fuel gauge stopped working, but everything else seemed OK. PCM checked OK with no stored DTCs. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, reconnected, and everything worked fine. No problems since.
