A little walk through of our stage 2 LS6 heads :)

Well,
We just did a set for a customer and took some pic's as we where going through the process. Hope you guys enjoy

Carter, deep in his grinding mode.

After hours and hours of grinding..the final shape takes place!

The chambers on these, where not touched due to the GIANT cam the customer is using..we didn't want to loose any compression and can't mill.

Ahh finished with the crude grinding.

All done!

On the bench for the last time

Mmmmmm new parts!

Ready for assembly

Carter checks the valve clearance, for the final time.

These where $1,800.00 and included a brand new set of GM 243 Castings. We generally see more CFM than these..but with the inability to un shroud the valves and rework the chamber..they are about 10cfm low at peak. (generally we will see around 320-325 @.650)

Yes that is Carter Edwards doing the port work on these heads. He is amazing with a grinder!

Jeff!
Haha, David just told me about this post. That was the coolest thing I have ever seen taking off a cylinder head lol. How is the car coming along?

not much has changed. things got very expensive around my town after the 2 hurricane years. rent went up $400 a month.

not to mention there were some other issues to work out.

swapped in a good clutch...then pulled it all out again a year later for a busted slave (which was new with the clutch).

bought some used ZR1s...315s out back to hook the beast up.

rear end girdle to keep the 10bolt together for a while

biggest power change has been the 3" true duals that i fabricated in my driveway.

saving up for the next line of mods. thinking of going with a ported FAST 92/92 for the time being. even though i KNOW i need heads. the intake i can do on my own in my apartment parking lot.

heads are not only $$$...but so are the small things that go with them...gaskets, bolts, injectors, possibly new pushrods etc....on top of the fact that it would not be an easy thing to do in the driveway.

might look into you guys when i decide to get heads.

what do you charge for mild port work and milling? i have a good set of BARE 241 heads sitting here. mild port/polish, mill for 11:1 compression, new valves and hardware?

any quotes?
