Turn Signal Don't Work
Turn Signal Don't Work
The front right daytime running light/signal doesn't work. It comes on when I activated the stock alarm. The light also comes on when the headlights are on. I have changed the bulb (x 4 bulbs), checked fuses, and cleaned the socket with QD electric cleaner. Is there anything else that I'm missing?
Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
perhaps the signal to the light isnt making it there.. have you checked your flashers? voltmeter to check those to make sure your flashers are working right..
if you put the hazards on does it work?

Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
the flashers work, but the same front right light doesn't flash or come on at all. Without removing the rear lights, they appear to come on but don't flash.
Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
Yeah, so you turn your blinker on and the light just stays on?....that would be a burnt out bulb on your rear turn signal....at least that has fixed mine....twice....once for each side...
Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
same thing happened to me nothing would work new bulbs, fuses, the works, finally since it still had a warranty at the time i took it to a dealer and apparently if you simply change out the bulb i can mess up the wiring they ended up having to replace i think 4 bulbs and redo something in the wiring, also make sure you're not touching the base of the bulb's when you replace them that causes them to short
Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
Ok...so I changed the flasher. The front light still doesn't work. So I looked at the bulb socket/connecter and compared it to the one that did work. I noticed that the metal contacts have all rusted out so there's no electrical connection. I found the part number for the socket. My next question is how would you install it? I'm certainly no electrician. I don't have very much extra wire on that side to work with compared to the other side.
Re: Turn Signal Don't Work
Congrats on figuring out that it was the socket. If the replacement is a typical socket, it'll have plenty of wire to make the connection. But, if you're not familiar with splicing wires, you're going to have a problem. You probably will need to have someone with experience to do it.
I would solder the three(?) wires and shrink tube them, and generous wrap with electrical tape.
I would not use crimp or 3M style connectors, unless they are a type used for exterior connections.
