Re: Tune up Price Opinion

whats his labor rate, and how much time did he quote? might be fair, parts alone are probably close to a hundred. guessing $20 filter, 25 plugs, 40 wires. close?

not a bad deal. a set of original plugs from autozone is $85. and swapping them is a huge pain.

rv93... oe plugs - 85 from autozone? I would hope no one would ever buy those. ngk's are only about 3$ each. or did you mean plugs and wires?

Re: Tune up Price Opinion

That is roughly 2.5hrs labor, and close to $100 in parts if using regular plugs. That's a good deal. I recommend GM wires and copper resistor AC Delco plugs (or NGK). Gap them to .040" If he quoted you the iridium plugs for that price, it's an even better deal!

The same services at a GM dealer would likely run a little over $350.

rod442 - rv93 is probably talking about the updated plugs GM recommends for these engines, which are iridium AC Delco plugs, and are somewhat expensive.
