True Duals Second thoughts

Hello all, I havent had a chance to get my duals installed yet but I need some opinions. I am going w/ Hooker Ceramic Coated LT's running 2.5" piping into an X-Pipe, no cats w/ Dynomax Bullets dumping. I am still learning about these setups and I am wondering if their is going to be any rasp? I'm looking for a LOUD/deep/smooth/clean tone and I have heard the Magnaflow oval mufflers can give me that. So my question is should I go ahead w/ the Bulletts or give the Magnaflows a shot?

All help is appreciated!

Herd some rasp on some true dual systems, u might have that especially without cats, but then again with an xpipe your also going to get a lower louder sound. I have magnaflow personally and there is ZERO rasp what soever. It sounds pretty sweet, but I think a tiny bit of rasp here and there, keeps the public aware that your car is 100% badass. So in a way, I wish I had some of that. Oh well still sounds cool, and scares away most of the competition.

I have the exact same setup, however I have an LT1. Anyways, as far as rasp goes, with the Bullets, you will have lots of it. My car is incredibly loud (and it is not a deep loud, it has some rasp to it), to the point where I can't drive with the windows down for more than 20 minutes.. Definitely give the Magnaflows a shot.

I have true duals out the back with flowpro twisters. I have absolutly no rasp at all. I heard that the rasp with true duals is a problem with the lt1 not the ls1. I wouldnt trade any cat back system for my duals, and have not heard a catback system that sounds as good.

Burnout04: I can take a little rasp but not much. I've heard a lot of clips on Magnaflows and I think they are the best sounding exhaust out their. If I am unhappy w/ the Dynomax Bullets I will go w/ the Magnaflow Oval mufflers.

CamaroManiac63: KMOOK used to have that setup when he had his LT1 SS and his sounded badass. It wasnt deep but it sounded more like a Formula 1 car. I guess we will find out. I will post some sound clips when I get them.

bombd84: I have heard so many different things w/ the LS1 exhaust that I dont know what to think LOL. I can say that I am not impressed with too many of the catback systems.

Thanks for all the help!

I'm on my second duals setup now. This one is on my 96 TA, it is the same setup as the SS had. But it sounds completely horrible at 1500-2000 rpms, where as the SS sounded awesome at all rpms. My bet is a cam makes all the difrence... and when i get something in there it will sound good like my SS did. (theoretically)

Yeah, I have also noticed that between 1500-2000 rpms, the car drones like crazy, but once past 2000, it seems to take a different tone and starts to sound much nicer.....

Re: True Duals Second thoughts

Anyone know if the Borla XR1's or the Bullets would have more rasp with an X pipe dual set up with LTs and no cats ?
