True dual exhaust?

I have a 1999 Camaro Z28. I bought it back in October after totalling my first car, a 94 Z28. I had a flowmaster exhaust on my 94, and it sounded great, so I decided to put the same exhaust on this car. It doesn't sound as aggresive though. I want to make my car sound loud, aggresive and unique. I was thinking about Borla, but I want something a bit more custom. I recently read about a 2001 Trans-Am that had a custom 3 inch dual exhaust with dual 3 inch inlet/outlet flowmaster mufflers. I was just wondering, is this practical for street use? Will this lower power output or anything? Is 3 inches too big? Which is better an H-pipe or an X-pipe? Any ideas about this will be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Mike

Running dual 40 series Flows will kill your ground clearance. Any type of a true dual system will affect your ground clearance, some more than others.

I actually comsidered ground clearance and that's not a main concern. The Trans-Am was able to put 17's and lower his car with an Eibach pro kit and has plenty of ground clearance, it's just a matter of finding a good spot for the mufflers. I'm more worried about performance and sound. If the dual exhaust won't work, what would be the best exhaust for the most aggressive sound, or what else can I do to my exhaust to make it sound better other than headers? Thanks again,

Mike

This is an awesome setup and you get awesome tips for some extra money. kinda pricey but I say worth it ( thats why i am saving)

performance you could get a cutout, real cheap , like $50

or an electric cutout for like 250

if you end up with a catback , like slp loudmouth ($300) or Borla (700), all gains will be about the same.

but again I think the first I listed is the ultimate.

thats not a true dual exhaust... there was a post about last week or so on true duals and companies that offer them.

I dont think there is a negative to them. I would be more impressed by true duals than a cat back.. ANYDAY...
