Is This True About The LS1??
Has anyone seen the new commercials for the GTO? Samual L. Jackson is now thier spokesman and is calling the GTO 350HP. Funny how the LS1 engine suddenly jumped from 305 in F-bodies to 350 in the GTO with the exact same engine and trannys.
Bottom line is they did in fact underrate the F-body back in the day because they were afraid the Corvette community would be up in arms if they advertised the Camaro and C5 both at 350. It was a marketing and ego stroking move.
I would guess his car is about 325 rwhp right now being a M6, catback, y-pipe & lid. So if you take 380 and factor in 15% drivetrain loss (57 hp) it brings you to 323 RWHP. So I could easily see 380 FWHP being accurate for that SS. But IMO FWHP means nothing. It's what you put to the wheels that matters most. Even better then that is track times. I put more stock in a ET and trap speed then I do dyno numbers.
But to answer your question I say yes 380 sounds about right if your talking FWHP.

Unless you are suggesting that everyone has a reading/comprehension deficiency, which given your response to my post shows me you all but fall short of that group.
Enough of the sillyness people. The fact remains is that 380 hp AT THE MOTOR with minor mods is very possible. With an average 15% drivetrain loss, that's 323 rwhp. I dynoed 314 rwhp with lid and full exhaust in 90 degree weather. LS1 fbodies are underrated from the factory due to the corvette.

Has nothing to do with being smarter than everyone else. The answer was spelled out 4 or 5 times and people are still asking how they have that much hp when they only start with 305 crank hp.
