is this true

i heard that if you get 4.10s you have to shift into 5th gear in the 1/4 mile and if this is true what gears would be better for a daily driver and goin to the track sometimes

not sure about the shift in the 1/4

but i would think for all around street/strip you would be happier with 3.73's

that way you'll only lose a little gas milage but still have some steeper gears for dragging

No you don't need to shift into 5th, unless you go thru the traps at like 125mph and don't have the rev limiter bumped.

I have 4:10 and they are great for the street/strip. You really seem to pull on the top end compared to cars without as much gear. Last I checked I was getting 21mpg. The other cool thing is you can run in 6th at 45mph if you chose, and the car will actually accelerate in 6th on the expressway.

Yeah, what PewterSS said.

I've got 4.11 gears in the back and trap at 108 MPH, still in 4th gear.
