whichever one you prefer. do you like to row through gears and have complete control of the tranny, or would you rather drive while eating a burrito, talking on your cell phone, and changing the CD?

drew is right, if you're going to take it to the strip, A4 will get you better times unless you're REALLY good at shifting...

You are being a little too vague with the question you asked. What are your plans with the car? (Daily driver, track...etc)

For everyday driving, there won't be that much of a difference in gas mileage between the two. My friend has an M6 in the same car as mine and it's so fun to rip through the gears, but it's a hassle in city traffic. The A4 is a good trans. for just about anything you plan on doing, and it shifts very well.

Track = A4

Street = M6

Heavy daily traffic jams = A4

Any wide open road with twists and turns = M6

If you are a daily driver in fairly heavy traffic and will go to the track on occasion then definately get an A4. If you want nothing but an all out drag strip race car that will never be driven on the street and get under 10 second passes then get an A4.

But if you can row gears good and want to enjoy the car mostly on the street then do yourself a favor and hold out for an M6. I wish I had but I'll have to get a TC and make do I guess. Way too much money owed vs. what it's worth for me to sell it for at least three years

Good Luck with whatever you get and have fun
