Hey Charlie. Sounds good. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I can get the money to change the solenoids.

Also, got a quick story for you guys, it has to do with Charlies personal quote (I would rather push a chevy than driv ea ford)

I was on my way to work one day, and the battery terminal came loose on my car, and my car stalled in the middle of the road. I had to push it to the next parking lot, and while pushing it, some guys drove by in a mustang and said, awww, that sucks! I said "It's better than driving a ford". ROFL. Worked out perfectly.

Michael, I hope you get your tranny working again.. So that is all I can think that would be wrong is the solenoids need to be replaced..

lol on your story, and don't feel too bad about pushing your car because I have had my share of pushing my 68 C10 project and a few people who drove fords said aww too bad you should have bought a Ford, and then I told them the same exact thing. They took off, but after I fixed the problems that caused me to push it, they were not saying aww too bad after they tried to race me in it, all they saw was a Big Red Bowtie and Tail Lights ...

Well Good Luck with your Tranny...

If you've already gotten the codes for either or both solenoids, then it's a non issue. Replace 'em and be done with the hassle. Black residue on the pan bottom is exactly what you should expect from normal tranny operation.

Thanks for the advice guys. You guys are really giving me some hope. As soon as I get some money for the solenoids, I'll replace them, and keep you guys posted. Thanks again.

Solenoids are easy and your done. Tranny rebuild cost me $700.00 Red Eagle clutch packs, Kolene Steels, Badass neck snapping stage III shift kit. All from a local shop guaranteed to 600HP with a 12 Month 12,000 mile. I did the R & R myself to save on that labor. Good luck i hope its your Solenoids, mine have let go since the rebuild, I had the option to replace but decided not too. Oh well will do them this weekend.

I would love to learn how to rebuild Auto Trannys but the only thing holding me back is the price of the tools I would need to do a tranny right, last time, I heard a friend of mine who I used to work with, jsut spent over $ 3500 and he still needs a couple more tools like a press and a Hot Tank and then he will have every tool he needs!!! Too much cash just to build 1 or 2 trannys for myself, not worth it in my opinion!!
