the ZO6 cam is dinky i think its a 204/218 .550/.550 115 er some crap...just go with the TR220 or 224 youll be much happier unless your going for the stock sounding near stock performing cam lol dont get me wrong its better than the stocker which is like 200/200 .495/.495 118 er something but its a dinky cam...spend the extra couple of bucks and get something that will make you happy the 224 would probably gain you 10-15hp across the powerband.

is that TR cam $420 complete?if so get it.

a z06 cam imo is a great sleeper cam.combined with properly chosen mods it makes good power with stock driveability.

if you go with that TR cam along with a tune and LTs youll have one killer machine.

no cam comes "complete" you have to buy at a minimum of new springs and its also recommended to get tit. retainers and hardened pushrods. Even with the Zo6 cam you get to at least get the ZO6 springs.

Sounds like a good cam selection , but be prepared to spend money on a tune. Chances are that it will throw a code and with emmisions now a days it wont pass with a check engine light glowing.

The Z06 or LS6 cam is a 204-218 / 550 lift with a 118 lsa
I opted for the cam that the Z06 guys are upgrading to
212-218 / 558-563 / 115 lsa, This will not throw a check engine light and is an awesome sleeper cam with only a slight lope.

I have not installed it or my PnP heads yet , but am hoping to pick up around 80 hp with stock tuning and stock manifolds.

gonna be hard with stock manifolds and tuning but if you can somehow pull off 80 extra hp at the wheels more power too ya.

Shouldnt be ,

That 80 hp increase will include the cam as well as fully polished and ported LS6 heads with compression upped to 11:1

The company that is doing this for me is... http://www.forcefedhighperformance.c...m?Section=Home

They have done several set ups with that cam, heads , LT headers and tuning and recieved 120 hp increases.

We have talked and although they reccomend LTs and tuning to get the most out of the set up, 80 hp should not be out of the question for their heads and cam set ups.

are you saying 80hp over the stock 300 or so hp at the wheels so your looking for 380 at the wheels? And what other mods are done...and are you figuring them into the equation? Most non long tube cars ive seen with cam/heads dyno 350-380 TOPS and your going with a fairly small cam...the specs on it sound good just a little smallish...but you are going with ls6 heads so who knows im not saying its impossible just saying i think 380hp at the wheels is about as good is it will get and not be dissapointed if you make less.
