Angry Took car to the track....idles rough now

...well, it doesn't idle rough persae, but definately not as smooth as it used to. Before I took my car to the track last week, the car idled incredibly smooth. When my car was at a stop-light, if the radio was on, you wouldn't even know the engine was running, no vibrations or anything. But now, at idle, I am getting these intermitent vibrations in the car, accompanied by a small drop in RPM's, like from 550 to 500 or 450.

Should I be worried or are these idle vibrations normal? Did I put a little too much wear and tear on some of the engine components? The car has 23,000 miles and still has factory spark plugs, and is completely stock.

I posted a question just like this a while back because my car was doing the EXACT same thing you just described one day, but hasn't done it since, i have the mods (in Sig) and a few people responded with Little confidence in what the problem was but someone suggested that it was bad gas, or Possible a vacuum leak, but I think Ill just go with the bad gas theory!

Hmmm....well, perhaps my fuel filter may have gotten a little clogged? Unfortunately, my problem has not gone away yet.

A couple of times after I went racing the car ran a bit rough and dropped to a lower idle. After a little bit of running the car around "normal" the problem would go away. I wrote it off as a computer re-teach, that after some serious thrashing the computer needed some time to re-gain consciousness.

Good luck.

p.s. quick question, did you try race fuel? I've also had the o2's go a bit wacky after that.

uuuuh....Computer re-teach? Hmmm...I guess my carburated mind doesn't think in terms of the computer.

No, no racing fuel. Just 93 octane pump gas.
