Thumbs down Tires on an LS1 SS?

I was looking at an LS1 SS at the local dealer yesterday. Car has the chromes in the 10 spoke style. Here is the question. Car only has 8K miles on it, and looking closely at the tires I see that they are BFG G-Force KD's. Exceptional tires but, that car came with Goodyear F1's from the factory.

Am I looking at a beat car here, or did SLP sometimes put $1300 tires on these cars from the FACTORY that I did not catch?

BTW: I told the sales guy to keep it!

That was an option when you went with the chromes from SLP. You could get KD's with them or stick with the F1's. The other possibility is the owner ordered the chromes after he picked up the car and had SLP wrap them with the KD's. Either way, you can get them from SLP. Personally, I don't care for either tire. If the car was a beater, the KD's would definately show it. They should have at least 45~50% left on em, otherwise there was some excess rubber laid down on some deserted road.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. Well the tires actually looked pretty healthy. I know about the KD's, because I got them on my car now. They hook good, but as soon as it gets wet out, forget it!

I see you've driven sideways in the rain too. It was probably an SLP optioned car. You could have checked the passenger door, the KD's would've been listed there.
