Throttle Body Bypass
Re: Throttle Body Bypass
you're not gonna notice 3-5hp
but for the small cost of doing it....why the hell not.
while you are in there, swap out the thermostat for a lower temp unit (make sure it's for the LS1). there is also a method for turning the stock thermostat into a 160 for $1 or so. do a search or look on www.installuniversity.com

Re: Throttle Body Bypass
I DID notice that my exhaust stopped "popping" from backpressure after I did the mod. Probably just coincidence, but could be due to lower intake temps.

Re: Throttle Body Bypass
I can't honestly say I noticed any difference at all, and "technically" my car has been running slower at the track since I did the TB-bypass mod, but I think that has more to do with poor track conditions, not power problems
. Actually, come to think of it though, I got my absolute quickest time EVER the last time I went to the track..............108.63 mph!
(yet only 13.51 seconds?!
).
