Thoughts on Headers
Thoughts on Headers
I was looking to get the Grot headers from QTP. What are the pros and cons of this header? I was thinking about getting the 1-7/8" header, with custom ypipe with dual cutouts.
-Also, would it be possible to lower the car with these headers??

Ive seen these headers first hand and they are looking sweet. From what i know unless you run a 383 or larger you only need 1 3/4". I saw QTPs car with the Dual QTECs on the car and was drouling. It sounds awesome! His car is lowered and i saw no clearance issues. They make Y pipes for the headers to work with cutouts or no cutouts. Check em out.

I am getting these headers on the next batch. Got to get the $$ together.

Yea, I was looking at the QTP site. So, I shouldn't go with the larger in diameter header, whys that. Yea, I'm gonna get the ypipe with dual electric cutouts. Your friend you said who has this setup, does he get any loud or unusual sounds that accompany headers sometimes? because I heard of people having to install bullets to reduce whatever bad sound the header makes.
-PS - with lowering, these headers would be fine with say, eibach pro kit lowering???
Thx

I'm also looking to get into a set of headers. It sounds like if you plan on increasing the displacement later on, then you might as well get the Grots now ?! I wonder if the 1 7/8 Grots would actually hurt performance on a 346 engine ?
The one who has the dual QTECs is Barry@QTP so ask him directly about sounds. I dont know the technical aspects of 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 but i would not put a 1 7/8 on a 346. Only a built charged 346. Call QTP and ask them directly
