thinner head gasket? advantages?

i was looking at head gaskets since i may be pulling heads soon to change out lifters.

i noticed thunder racing has:
Cometic MLS Cylinder Head Gasket, LS1 Engine, .054 thickness
Cometic MLS Cylinder Head Gasket, LS1 Engine, .045 thickness

they list different bore diameters, assuming for the different LSx blocks.

what is the stock thickness, stock bore and are there any advantages to a thinner gasket.

i know it would increase compression a small amount. would this be worth a noticable amount of hp?

Just use the stock GM MLS gaskets. They work great unless your making stupid power. And they're only like $40 a pair.
